Carlton Hair Hyde Park

Tshepo did an amazing job of my hair. He's a junior stylist but should be a master one. He did a really fantastic job of my wash, cut and blow dry. He's very friendly and chatty. Highly recommend and the price was very reasonable. Great and very busy salon.

Very nice and friendly people. I usually dye my own hair roots with a very mild Box dye but decided to try the salon as most hairdressers judge you for using box dye saying its bad for the hair. Sadly it was not a great experience getting a salon dye. I was not given information on the dye or asked questions about my hair or history. The davines dye they use contains ammonia and chenicals. I started itching a lot during the dye process which I don't usually get with my box dye. Then as they washed the dye out my scalp, I started feeling burning. They used a product to try help the scalp but the dye I feel is way stronger then ordinary dye and has a lot more chemicals which are not great for my scalp or body. I was not impressed with davines as it is dose to be a healthier brand. They have an ammonia free product but did not mention this to me until my head was burning as about 5 out of 10. The colour they suggested is too dark for my complexion. I mentioned in a chocolate brown and like a warmer colour. I feel like a goth or emo now. It is a very dark brown almost looking black. I did say to them are you sure about that colour and not too dark please. I don't feel they took enough time to consult with me as someone new there or listen to what I would like or my goals for my hair. So now I feel my colour is way too dark. I am disappointed with it. It is not my colour. On arrival they did not know what I had booked ahead and had to ask. Trim, dye and treatment was what I needed. As nice as they were, the experience was not as good as the wyatt at 44 Stanley in Jhb that uses davines products too. That hairdresser had time and asked many questions first and made sure she knew what would suit me. Sadly they were closed still so I tried Carlton. The trim was nice with my fringe. No issue with the treatment or cut. Happy with that and pretty. Thumbs up here. But I would not get my hair dyed here again. Hope this helps from a now emo child.

I absolutely love Carlton Hydepark. Not only is the stylish absolutely amazing at hair, they are super friendly and actually take care to care for my hair. The staff are all amazing and always work together as a team and are very much family to one another and customers and the vibe is always great. Every time I get a hair wash it’s an experience as I get a massage and the chairs are first class. I fall a sleep many times. I live closer to other Carlton’s but don’t mind driving further as I love going there because of the excellent work and amazing humans

This is the MOST unfriendly, horrendous service I have ever experienced!!!!! I will never never never return . Staff seems like they HATE this place. Not one smile. I asked for a glass of water and the stylist seemed like I asked for a full body massage. This has been a very disappointing experience.

Thembi and Dineo attended to my blow dry and were an absolute pleasure .It was late in the day they gave their all and kept me entertained throughout my appointment.What a pleasure.Danko to both of you
