I’ve grown up with tropical fish my whole life. Had my own tank now for 6 years with various fish & live plants etc. A few weeks ago I decided to add some colour to my tank & purchased about 8-10 tetra & 2 bottom feeders. Nothing out of the ordinary. First purchase was the Tera and 5 days later the bottom feeders and 4 beautiful mollies.
Not enough to “shock” the tank & current residents.
– I acclimated accordingly and correctly
– My tank is big enough for all the fish
– ph levels are checked regularly
– filters clean etc etc
Only the new fish started dying off one by one & now my older fish are on their way out & dying off. I am now treating my tank and have spent over R600 on medicated food & treatment drops & water replacement.
Only result here is that I was sold ill & tainted livestock from this store.
PS: He is the last man standing of 6 dogs we’ve had in 30 years average age 11 ..We are truly blessed to have this luxury of pets..

Experienced this first hand when we were sold a kitten in May. After several visits to Dr Boisie, we took the kitten to dr Suliman who said the kitten was severly aneamic and sadly after 1 night in hospital he passed away after suffering for 3 weeks of having him

Today Saturday 26/10/2025 my daughter was at LTA plaza and saw a kitten vomiting and crying..
last week someone complained they were at the same stores and the kitten was in a small cage with no food and water and it was 28 degrees.

I bought a kitten from the owner 2 weeks ago for my wife’s birthday, I asked the owner to keep her for an extra week as it was too early for my wife’s birthday .
The following week I went to collect and we had her in our possession for 3 days and she got terribly ill. She had to be hospitalised for two days and unfortunately she didn’t make it though the night.
The vet had informed that the kitten was too young to have left her mother ( she was 4 weeks). The guy at the pet store told me of her age, but I was completely unaware of this situation.
I’m extremely disappointed that he wouldn’t think to inform me of this situation!
