The guys were very friendly and gentle. I watched them. The reason for the low review is due to the following.

Not all of my dogs nails were cut. (I understand the whole cutting beyond the bloodline thing). I’ve attached pictures.

The thing I was most unhappy about when I asked about the toothbrushes being new. The guys said yes but they were just in a plastic container unsealed I’m some white liquid. Who knows if this was used on another dog and put into the liquid to be cleaned. This can spread diseases between dogs.

Alicia reached out to me and clarified all of the above. The 1 nail was an issue to cut and the other nail was genuinely missed which she offered to come out and do.

The toothbrushes are new in the mornings and cleaned throughout the day.

Communication to customers in the beginning stages need to improve. But good afters ales service.

Our experience with Boskruin Veterinary Clinic has been nothing short of appalling. This clinic appears to prioritize profit over proper diagnosis and care. When you take your beloved pet to a vet, you expect an accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment – especially considering a fee of R2500 – not a cycle of ineffective medications designed to line their pockets.

We visited this clinic because our furry companion was wheezing and coughing incessantly every night. The veterinarian diagnosed hookworm and prescribed a dewormer along with prednisone. Three weeks later, there was no improvement; our pet continued to wheeze and cough up phlegm every night. When I contacted the vet again, she suggested a new round of medication – at our expense – despite their initial treatment failing to address the problem.

The replacement prescription as per the veterinarian doctor was supposed to include cortisone and a cough suppressant. However, when my partner picked it up, the medication consisted only of cortisone and codeine – an empty packet labeled “codeine,” no less.

This level of negligence and mismanagement is unacceptable. We trusted them with our pet’s health, only to be met with incompetence and frustration. Our pet suffered needlessly, and we were left with wasted time, money, and heartbreak for our pet not being any better.

Do yourself a favor: steer clear of Boskruin Veterinary Clinic. Your pet deserves far better care than this.

Marcus and Peter has come to our house to euthanise three of our aging/sick dogs and their empathy really helped us to cope with the heartbreak. Fantastic people, excellent receptionists like Dani. My cat “ Little Guy” sadly passed away on Wednesday the 17th January 2024. HIT and RUN – in – broad daylight ! What a way to start the New Year ! Someone had kindly dropped him off at Boskruin Vet. Upon arrival, I was greeted with such awesome people. The one lady ; her name is Caitlyn was so extremely supportive and assisting me with such compassion. She led me to my cat ‍⬛. She gave me a private moment to mourn and cry . I seriously love this vet . They offered me different options for either a burial or cremation. I wasn’t quite sure as yet and so they had kept him overnight in a cool place , so that I could make better decisions the next day and so that I could get a special mould of his little paw as the lady that did the paw moulds weren’t in on that day. They gave me a wonderful poem with his paw prints on it. This Vet is NOT just ordinary , they really do go all the way to make you feel better and special . Caitlyn you’re amazing ! Thank you for your warm hugs and kind words . I was so indecisive and she could see I was having a hard time making a decision. Caitlyn made things so comfortable for me and easier. I LOVE this vet !

We recently moved to this area and had to change vet, which is always daunting. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the vet did a thorough check on our sick dog. We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill and happy to say we have found our new go-to clinic. Thank you.

The grounds and facilities are awesome. One of the better off leash parks EVER.

What was not acceptable is the restaurant taking our order and ONE HOUR later only informing us that they ran out of stock. Waitress wanted to know if we’d like something else. Hmmmm . No. We left.

Love this place so much! It is amazing to get out for the day and get some excersise, good lunch and amazing scenery. Walkhaven is great for the fur babies to socialize and burn off energy. Prices are great from entry to the restaurant and lovely market stalls.

If you are a dog lover who is looking for a place to take your 4-legged bestie, the Walkhaven is the place for you. Wide open space for them to run and 2 beautiful ponds for them to take a dip in. Lovey picnic places for the doggy parents to chill and braai. There is a restaurant that caters for breakfast or lunch and has a doggy menu too. There is also a market to buy doggy stuff as well. A very well-kept establishment. I was super impressed.

This place is beautiful – it’s a lovely place to spend the day with your dog. The doggos are all very social and friendly.

I take my bichones on Sunday mornings, I have some coffee at the restuaraunt on the property, your dogs can join you at the restaurant. They also have a option on the menu for dogs.

Your dogs can swim – there is also an area where your dog can get washed for a small fee.
It’s also nice for picnics and braais.

There is an entry fee of R45 for a human, not sure about little humans, but doggos come free.

There is also a separate area for bigger dogs that’s away from smaller dogs.

Highly recommend

Edit: there is a gravel road before the park. It’s rather terrible to drive with a non 4×4 car, wish the owner could either fix it up a bit or pave it. I checked the lot on a busy day, and it mainly compromised of hatch backs and sedans, who all most likely had issue with the gravel. If the owner reads this, please consider atleast fixing it up a bit it a smoothet ride.

Our fur babies love walkheaven, it’s the one place they can be free and have fun … We travel all the way from Alberton just to enjoy the park

The food is amazing, and at responable pricing, the facilities are clean and neat, lots of flea market stalls to browse through, and you are welcome to have a picnic , Ample seatings at certain spots .

Tons of room and space for all the fur babies

Prompt delivery to local depot where we were able to pick up & that way saved a considerable amount on charges. Our nectar feeder is great. Well designed, strong & unfussy. We got an immediate response when we struggled to unplug the spout. Unfortunately, we cant seem
to attract any birds yet….. heres hoping they find their treat soon!

Overall store is very nice clean and professional with good stock. However I can never over look when Bettas are kept in small cups, if they get sold quick I can somewhat understand, but I could smell the cups of water from a looking distance away so that water wasn’t changed for at least a day or two, for a store as big as this I would expect better….. will happily change my review if that is sorted and they are separated in tanks rather…

The park is well-managed and consistently clean from litter for the most part. They added paddle ball section with coffee shop. Its well-maintained trails are ideal for walking, running, or cycling, &the expansive grassy areas are perfect for romantic picnics, yoga, or simply relaxing under the open sky.

It offers stunning views of Johannesburg’s skyline, particularly during sunrise &sunset, adding to its charm.

There’s a section where an obstacle course is well set up where I see loads of kiddies parties BUT do not use the bathrooms

The owner is a good guy who allowed us to sell our hamsters even though he was full up. We then bought one hamster in return and a cage for her.

Great and friendly service. There is a large variety of pets from chickens, ducks and birds to reptiles and spiders, fish and hamsters, mice and rats. Love this place!

We go there often to buy some fish food and food for my beardie, would love to see more of a variety in foods for reptiles as they do need that variety to stay interested in their food and healthy overall. I love freeze dried food for my beardie. But more variety of those foods would be awesome. These are the ones I normally buy from them and my beardie absolutely loves it.

There was a mix up in the delivery addreas for a cat tree that I ordered. Melanie arranged to have it collected from my home and re-routed to the correct address. From the date of order to the date of delivery at the correct address, this entire process took 6 days! I was kept in the loop on what was happening from the time I realised the mistake. My daughter has just received the cat tree. She is over the moon and I know that her cats will love it. Moving my dog, Daisy, from South Africa to New Zealand was such a huge thing for me, and I honestly don’t know how I would’ve done it without Global Paws. From the very beginning, Nadine (our amazing consultant) was so kind, patient, and helpful. She guided us through every step of the process, always happy to answer our endless questions and reassure us when we were feeling nervous.

It’s a big deal trusting someone with your fur baby, especially over such a long journey, but I felt completely confident knowing Daisy was in good hands. Nadine and the Global Paws team took care of everything — from the complicated paperwork to making sure Daisy was safe, comfortable, and well cared for once she landed in New Zealand.

I can not even begin to express my gratitude to Global Paws, ESPECIALLY Toinette. There were issues with my dogs’ blood work at Onderstepoort 2 weeks ago and my boys were stuck in quarantine for an additional 7 days. I was of course frustrated and angry, but Toinette kept me up to date and she went WELL above and beyond to ensure that my boys would not stay any longer.

I am so grateful to them for their kindness and support. International pet relocation is is extremely stressful, but Toinette and Trevor made the process bearable.

Global Paws was incredible from start to finish. They helped us move our dog from Botswana to England (with a stopover in South Africa) and honestly, we couldn’t recommend them enough. Toinette was phenomenal and so good at her job. Communication was clear, she had so much knowledge and went above and beyond to ensure we felt happy throughout the whole process. Basil had to spend a few nights at their kennels and we received photos and regular updates throughout our stay. Great service!

I am happy with the assistance I received from Nadine M and entire Global team. Procedure from starting the process of relocating the dogs from Netherlands last year Nov/Dec to finally getting the flight early Feb 2025 back to South Africa was smooth.

The team communicated well and provided all the required information to meet all requirements of the relocation. Think it helped that we started the process early.

Would recommend using them for sure. Personally though relocating dogs is such a big step outside of just the long flight and being stuck in the crates for that long. I will be sure to think again if I ever relocate from South Africa. For now dogs are happy and are where they belong. Well wishes

We did a lot of research before choosing a pet travel agency and ultimately went with Global Paws after a warm and reassuring video call with Tionette. From start to finish, the communication and guidance were excellent. Our beloved dog made it safely from South Africa to Australia, and we’re so grateful for the care and professionalism shown throughout by Tionette and Global Paws. Highly recommend Global Paws!

We went to Booysens SPCA yesterday. Staff were friendly, however many kennels were filthy, full of dog shit that had not been cleaned for days. Poor dogs were jumping around in their own faeces. No open space for dogs to get a chance to run around.

These people working at JHB Spca ,clearly does not care about animals.They don’t answer the phones and when they eventually do ,they disconnect it in your ear.Have laid a complaint with inspector Diali for a tied up ,immaciated dog .He cheked up once on the dog then the owner took the poor dog somewhere else and that was the end of it .Nothing further has been done.

The staff was kind, helpful and assisted with our German Shepherd Max with his final moment with empathy and grace. We thank you dearly.

The animals are lovely and friendly. However the unprofessional, unfriendly and lazy staff ruin the experience as they would rather have conversations with each other than actually help out. they also refuse to work past 12:30 despite closing at 1 . they surely ruin the adoption experience and could potentially be preventing animal from getting homes due to their laziness.

The gentlemen that work at this SPCA are professional, and friendly. They responded promptly when we required assistance with our dogs. I’ll always be grateful to them

This is honestly the only place I would send my furchild to. After searching everywhere for the perfect place for training- the vet recommended the dog club.

Pepper went for basic obedience training. It was one month, once a week. And it was very low cost. Because Pepper is a toy breed, they are known to be difficult to train. But this was no challenge for Julie, Janneque and the team. The training has been so effective that people are still impressed with Peppers obedience!

Shortly after I began to send Pepper for grooming and daycare. She always comes back looking amazing with no complications.

Honestly the only place I would trust with her now.
