Customer Reviews
A book lovers paradise. Friendly guys at the store. Thousands of titles available. Because of the number of items at the store walking space is limited but that's not a problem at all . If you love books and antiques you will love the place

This place is amazing if only for the sheer volume of stock - more than 2 million books, making it the biggest second hand bookstore in the Southern hemisphere (if not the world!!) It's not your garden variety shopping mall or suburban bookstore. No neat aisles with alphabetically listed titles, the Collector's Treasury is cramped and somewhat challenging to navigate, with little by way of order (although I was informed by the owners that they've started cataloguing the books and arranging by theme) and can be overwhelming. However, I was thrilled to find some gems - a James Baldwin title I've been looking for, a collection of short stories from around the world, plenty of stock on some of my favourite authors of fiction (Stephen King, Terry Pratchet, Tom Sharpe) and lots of African authors. I learned that they are happy to order books if they don't have them (or have them but can't find them!! ). Great place if you're looking for out of print titles or random collectables - but not if you're finicky about personal space and neatness...

This 2nd hand book shop is exorbitant. Book prices are sky high regardless of the fact that most books have sustained substantial water damage and deterioration. The service is horrid and the owner will not negotiate a reasonable price, he believes his valuations are fair. You would do well to pack your own dust masks and gloves. What a spectacular disappointment.

A three-storeyed book store run by two brilliant and amusing elderly brothers!
If you’re a book lover, this is your heaven . Get ready to do some searching and bending as there is so much corner to check!

This store is a hidden gem. The owners are so helpful, friendly and patient. They have antique books, wonderful crystal glasses and trinkets at even better prices.
