The taxi drivers are always polite when we drive in that area. We just drove past the rank on our way elsewhere. I'll never drive that road again. It's in a terrible state. Ive been out of the area for 4 years and got caught on that road and the many potholes. I was unaware of the deterioration. I feel for the taxi drivers having to navigate that road in Kombi's. Its bad.

It's still clean and safe; not smelly.
But if you have to go to some far destinations late as 7pm, better go to MTN taxi rank or bree

East Gate was good today, well occupented showing that people still have a little to spend despite the hiding SA has had during Covid and the outright Corruption of the government? I wouldn't say that it is a recovery by any stretch of the imagination and I wouldn't say that increased job creation is about to happen, but something is happening again. Support the stores and not only the online shops?

The taxi rank has taxis to various place around JHB. Usually quiet during the day but busier after working hours. If in doubt, ask for help from the taxi Marshalls and/or drivers. Be wary of your belongings and surrounds.
