If only I could rate a 0 or even a minus. Dealing with this company has been an absolute nightmare. The only emails that got I “good service” for were the ones where I requested for additional items to be added on. Trying to get a hold of them on their landline is another story. The stuff was delivered on time (thankfully) but the condition of their items, mainly the tables and the background board was pathetic.
1 table could not be used because of how bad it was and yes I requested a refund on this. My function was in December, I understood the refund would be done in February. Details regarding the refund were submitted in Jan. No feedback was received even after following up with them. I eventually requested the boss’s contact number and when I did call, I was told he will
get back to me. He got back to me by telling me that they are still pulling up the records because this one was “3 months” ago. Technically a month and a half but I don’t see how that response helped me because he still did not get back to me and I am not the one that had that refund policy in place. The next day I received a proof of payment for an amount that did not make sense. My initial email regarding the refund stated “Please confirm the refund amount before making any payment into my account.” and I emailed back on the 12th of Feb asking for a breakdown and to date have not received any feedback. If I’m attending to an email, I attend to everything, not just what suits me because that’s common sense and also a job requirement. I honestly do not understand how people can work like this, its mind boggling! As a service provider, you have a duty to deliver especially because its not for free and the lack of communication, terrible items and even their whole manner with regards to how this was dealt with was really something else. The highlight is that I used ABC a few years back to hire a jumping castle for my daughter’s birthday and I was impressed and this time was a total disaster, especially the embarrassment when people asked me “where did I find this company”. Definitely not an experience any person who is planning a function would want to go through.

All the staff were all very friendly and very helpful. ABC Function Hire – Ormonde were able to assist me with last minute hiring of tables, chairs, and decor for a babyshower. Booking was super easy, and they delivered and picked up.

If there was a minus rating, I’d give that. Equipment arrives dirty, torn and in a total state, should be offering that as a service to hire, as it feels like total theft. Deliveries done after 10pm at night, absolutely unacceptable. They are no good at communicating, and your deposit, forget it, you will never see it again!

Despite paying R2100, I was not satisfied with the quality of service. Specifically:
– The phone and speaker were not syncing properly.
– The engagement with the kids was minimal, with only music being played (which I could have done myself).
