Good restaurant and work space in the CBD. Be transported to a near forgotten time surrounded by a familiar city undergoing improvement. A wonderful piece of Joburg heritage!

What a welcome party in the time-honored Rand Club with its fine British colonial charm. I came there with Hawaiian shirt and shorts - a fashion sacrilege that was initially punished with withering looks. But our irresistible charm opened the doors of this venerable establishment, which was once co-founded by the controversial figure Cecil Rhodes. The bar is an impressive 31.4 meters long - an architectural accolade for anyone who wants to get drunk after a long day at work. And the "holy halls" in which The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed? If they even exist ( ), then only for the chosen few - or for charming philistines in Hawaiian looks. Thank you very much for that! And...The burger was, surprisingly, the best so far in South Africa – in Berlin it would be average, but here it was a culinary accolade. Conclusion: wonderfully decadent, absurdly elitist – a must for every daring rascal

Great old world experience, loved the appeal of the Club and its historical connections||However, facilities were somewhat lacking||1.|Basement has "billiards room"|Book store, but no leisure facilities|2.|Travellers now demand a different experience, the basement is steeped in the past Needs a pool/ sauna/ steamroom||Liked the rooms, but no Aircon, had to use fan and open windows.||Paying 1550 rand a night would demand better.|Place needs some money spent on it.

The Rand Club has lost none of its old world charm. The decor takes you back to a bygone era. It's simply magical. The food was out of this world. I would highly reccomend this venue for you next supper or lunch

The food was wonderful and well cooked. We had the chicken schnitzel and burger. I asked for medium rare on the burger and it as cooked to perfection
