I've been to this establishment a few times. Staff is usually quite helpful. From a livestock perspective, I've bought tropical fish here almost a year ago and they are all still alive and thriving. They also have quite a bit of accessories and feeds. Really a home pet owner's one-stop shop.

R1200 worth of fish dead in 2 weeks. I’ve grown up with tropical fish my whole life. Had my own tank now for 6 years with various fish & live plants etc. A few weeks ago I decided to add some colour to my tank & purchased about 8-10 tetra & 2 bottom feeders. Nothing out of the ordinary. First purchase was the Tera and 5 days later the bottom feeders and 4 beautiful mollies. Not enough to “shock” the tank & current residents. - I acclimated accordingly and correctly - My tank is big enough for all the fish - ph levels are checked regularly - filters clean etc etc Only the new fish started dying off one by one & now my older fish are on their way out & dying off. I am now treating my tank and have spent over R600 on medicated food & treatment drops & water replacement. Only result here is that I was sold ill & tainted livestock from this store.

Love this place Geat variety and much better priced than Mall Pet Shops..shopping here for about 2years now.Its about time for this review..Well earned and Well Done to all the Staff and Management..Great Advice and service with a warm smile as always...Love you Guys..proudly South African..Staff that look after the business like their own..Keep it up..My Poodle is proof of the Senior Hills Food..he is on it for 2 years now ..loves it and all his bodily functions are Excellent and quality of life much improved..its Amazing what quality advice and food can do for your Pet..Bola my Dog is going on 17 years now..Thank God for this unconditional Love in my Life and Thank you Animal Kingdom Hillfox. PS: He is the last man standing of 6 dogs we've had in 30 years average age 11 ..We are truly blessed to have this luxury of pets..

Thank you for responding to my complaint on excessive pricing. I would like to give you my version on your price increases. If you feel your prices are in line with other shops I have a shock for you. You toy mielies for parrots are not anything special yet you charge R39.00, that is just one example, I am getting the exact same products that you are selling elsewhere. Guess what it is cheaper despite you call regarding climate. That is a very poor excuse. If you loose many customers due to your extensive knowledge of the markets around you then know that it is due you lack of vision for your business. Regards. Geraldine

Good selection and helpful friendly staff, although not particularly cheap. I was dismayed to see that the rats and mice were kept in glass tanks and it was hot in the shop. They need to be in well aired cages! There was one ineffectual air cooler (?) blowing at one end of the aisle, doing very little. I would not buy rats or mice there because if they stay for any length of time in those conditions they'll probably develop respiratory problems.
