We ate at this lovely gem two nights in a tow while we were in Johannesburg. There were four of us and we ordered different menu items each time so we could all share and try as many of the dishes as possible. Everything was delicious and we were able to sit and enjoy for two hours. The waitstaff was fantastic, very attentive and caring. I’ll definitely return.

This place has a lot of memories for me. My dad used to take me there every single time he was visiting Joburg. I recently went back after 7 years plus of not visiting the place.
It’s amazing that they have expanded a little.
You can now sit inside, which feels more safe and closer to the bathrooms.
The meat is always tasty. All sorts. They don’t sell pork tho, which is a shame.
A definitely must check

Customer Reviews
Disappointed with the management and
manner in which my complaint was handled.

I bought the chicken and took it to the shisanyama area, but when I got home, I discovered that the meat was rotten inside—green in color, which is clearly not safe for consumption. I immediately returned to the store to report the issue, but was told that I was the first person to complain and that there was nothing they could do about it.

What made this situation even more frustrating was the unprofessional treatment and lack of courtesy I received during my interaction with the staff. The manner in which my concern was dismissed was disappointing and unacceptable.

As a customer, I expect not only safe and fresh products, but also respectful and responsive service. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and address both the quality of your products and the level of service provided at your store.

The braaied meat is great. the service is okay but I always go there when it is packed. They also sell Pap and Chakalaka and Salsa to go with the braai meat.

Normally, visit in the morning for the fat cakes (amagwinya), and it’s always packed, and the service is not the best because they slow ad sometimes confuse the orders especially when there’s load shedding. Don’t come when you are in a hurry.

Buy and braai place. Mostly good for heavy drinkers. There’s really nothing much to write home about. This place is losing its touch. No longer as tidy as it used to be 24 years ago. Probably because the owner is now older and exhausted. This place was once upon a time the beacon of our township/suburb. Now I think it is slowly dying and will soon be forgotten.

The food wasn’t up to scratch for me. I like salt and the meat lacked seasoning.
They don’t cut the meat and you have to go cut for yourself where they cut the raw meat. So that was a no for me. The pap was nice though. Soft and fresh. The chakalaka and salsa you can tell they are not freshly made.

I will get this place to be shut down permanently if they don’t stop playing their loud music until 2am in the morning. It’s a residential area and ppl are going to work and kids need to go to school in the morning. The noise levels are unacceptable. By the way I did get the previous owner’s shut down for the same reason.

The meat was just what I wanted.. It hit all the flavour spots well marinated juicy and a nice size steak. I also enjoyed the relish and bean salad. My only critic is the Pap…

It tasted like instant pap so it had that ionized taste to it… And they give waaaaayyy too much pap in proportion to the sides..

Its honest braai food with a vibey atmosphere of maskhandi/piano music in the background. I definitely recommend the spot for a easy outing

We went to braai meat with 8 of my friends. We got horrible service from the guy at the till whilst ordering the meat. We waited over 3 hours for meat. When the meat eventually gets there, we all just couldn’t eat it!!! It was had no spices, not even salt, it had a gas taste. So we just couldn’t eat it!!!

We asked for a refund and were told the owner is on his way, yet he never came!!! We bought over R500 worth of gas tasting meat and NEVER GOT A REFUND
